Introduction

The highly anticipated trailer for Sriram Raghavan’s film “Merry Christmas,” featuring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles, has been released. The trailer suggests that the movie encompasses all the elements one would expect from the filmmaker and more.

The 140-second trailer kicks off in a typical Sriram Raghavan style, with a split screen displaying two mixer grinders—one grinding food items and the other tablets. Through subsequent shots, the video sets the tone by emphasizing the importance of cinema, carnivals, toys, the color red, and other Christmas-related elements in the film, presented with retro visuals.

About “Merry Christmas” trailer

In trailer, we can see that in the quiet embrace of Christmas Eve, the city adorned with twinkling lights and festive cheer, a palpable sense of anticipation hangs in the air. The enchanting voice of a character narrates, “Since the beginning of time, we have all been looking for that one moment. And when that moment comes, we understand that all of life has been in sweet anticipation of it.”

Our gaze falls upon Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, lost in the magic of a romantic date within the cozy confines of Katrina’s apartment. The flickering candles and soft glow of fairy lights create a picturesque scene, promising a tale of love and joy. Little do they know, their world is about to be shaken by a series of surreal incidents, casting a shadow over the merriment of the night and putting the lives of our protagonists and a young girl in jeopardy.

As the tension mounts, a mysterious figure emerges from the shadows—a “lone wolf” played by Sanjay Kapoor. His entry is no coincidence, for, as the voiceover suggests, “the good lord knew how to keep [him] in the right place at the right time.” The plot thickens, and the characters find themselves entangled in a web of uncertainty, where the only lifeline is to “Dial M for Miracles.”

The trailer takes an unexpected turn, leaving us on the edge of our seats, as Vijay Sethupathi delivers a chilling line that echoes in the darkness: “Sometimes violence is better than sacrifice.” The promise of a mind-blowing film lingers in the air, leaving us eager to unravel the mysteries that lie ahead in “Merry Christmas.”

In this cinematic journey, love, danger, and the supernatural collide, weaving a tapestry of suspense that will keep audiences hooked from the first frame to the last. As the festive season unfolds on screen, brace yourself for a rollercoaster ride of emotions, where miracles and mayhem dance hand in hand beneath the twinkling lights of Christmas.
