Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki Celebration at YRF Studios

In a heartwarming meet and greet event at Yash Raj Studio, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude towards his loyal fans. The actor, who recently starred in ‘Dunki,’ was at the event celebrating the success of his third release of 2023, following ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan.’ The three films collectively grossed over an impressive Rs 2,600 crore globally.

During this special fan interaction, Shah Rukh Khan opened up about the self-doubt he experienced in the previous decade when some of his films failed to make a mark at the box office. However, his three releases in 2023 rekindled his faith in following his instincts. The actor shared, “I have been working for 33 years. Normally you do feel nervous. You feel, ‘Yaar I hope I have got the film right.’ Before these, some films of mine didn’t work so I would think ‘Main achchi films bana nahi raha hoon.’ But more than my films, the love people showered on ‘Pathaan,’ ‘Jawan,’ ‘Dunki’ from India and outside the country…They have taken me to their heart more than the films and said, ‘Don’t go away for four years. 2-3 months is fine.’ So I am thankful to you, the audience, and the whole world for making me realize that what I do is right and I need to keep doing it.”

Reflecting on the 4-Year Gap Before ‘Pathaan’

Shah Rukh Khan candidly addressed the significant four-year gap before ‘Pathaan,’ acknowledging the nervousness that accompanies such a hiatus. He shared, “It’s new because I have been working for 33 years and you take such a big gap. Normally, you get a little nervous and you feel that, ‘I hope I’ve got the film right.’ Usse pehle kuch meri filmein thi jo itni acchi nahi gayi toh mujhe lagne laga tha ki main acchi filmein bana nhi raha hun (Before that some of my films didn’t do well and so I thought I’m not making good films). But I think more than my films ek pyaar tha logo ka jo (there was love for) ‘Pathaan,’ ‘Jawan,’ and ‘Dunki’ k liye.”
